International Political Communication Conference
The Center for Public Discourse Analysis (CPDA ), hosted its first International Political Communication Conference on the theme : A New Chapter In Democracy: Strengthening Political Communication for Growth .
Experts, academics, and media professionals gathered at the University of Media ,Arts and Communication in shaping democracy on Friday , March 7, 2025, for the first international Political Communication Conference hosted by CPDA, in collaboration with Godwin Etse Sikanku.
The event aimed to foster responsible political dialogue, media ethics , and active citizens engagement as the foundation of a thriving democracy.
The main speaker Benjamin Ofei-Addo, a finance and media expert known for his advocacy of transparency and accountable governance , emphasized that while journalism is a profession , media operates in a business context.
Ofei- Addo’s speech uncovered the importance of media literacy , constructive political discourse, and accountability in fostering and informed and engaged citizenry. He urged governments, media outlets, and civil society organizations to prioritize truthful communication and combat misinformation , particularly in the digital realm.
