The event aimed at fostering good journalism, encourage effective communication in and outside the media industry.
The program was honored by two renowned and prominent media personalities namely: Kweku Owusu Peprah and Manasseh Azure Awuni.
The first speaker Kweku Owusu Peprah, the current channel manager for JoyNews and a senior journalist at Joy Fm .
He asserted that everyone was born with an empty brain until someone impacted knowledge into the brain. He added that “ school teaches you how to do but industry teaches you what to do. He advised the students of UniMAC to seek for internship opportunities whilst still in school.
Kweku Owusu Peprah urged all students journalists to work effortlessly to achieve their purpose through journalism without any setbacks.
He maintained that journalism is for the truth and is mostly exercise with passion. While public relation professionals put make up on every product, Journalists go beyond to find what is hidden .
He also argued that a good journalist can become public relation officer and counseled students to be intellectually competent and prepared before interview.
A multiple award winning journalist and a formal head of investigation at Joy FM and JoyNew, Manasseh Azure Awuni was the second speaker for the program.
His speech accentuated the importance of hard work and truthful journalism. He declared that journalism is a great profession and it pays .
He urged students journalists to read more because, he said “ for someone to become a good writer in the digital age then the person must read consistently.
He encouraged the students of UniMAC not to look back because journalism has fulfillment and positive impacts.
Manasseh Azure Awuni exhibited his written books including Investigative Journalist, Letter to my future wife, among others to the students after his speech, which he made it available to them.
The event provided a valuable opportunity and education on how journalists can efficiently communicate and also dedicate themselves to serving the public.
The program provided the opportunity, where the Faculty Of Journalism And Media Studies (FOJAMS) officially launched new competition among students in Level 200 , 300, and level 400 and unveiled the new Dean for the faculty, Professor Sikanku.
The event provided a valuable forum for discussion where students were able to express their thoughts and ask questions on issues concerning journalism work.
The event is seen as a significant step towards achieving achieving dedication and ensuring truthful practice of journalism in the digital world.
A prayer for peace and unity by pastor Alexander closed the session.
